How 68Fit handles your information
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Josh Whitman, doing business as 68Fit (“68Fit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use 68fit.com and related applications, features, and services (collectively, the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information such as name, email, username, authentication credentials, and profile details.
- Fitness information such as experience, goals, schedule, equipment, completed workouts, progress, measurements, and limitations you choose to disclose.
- Recovery and wellness information such as sleep duration, steps, workout minutes, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, stress check-ins, and readiness inputs.
- Wearable information you authorize 68Fit to receive from Apple Health, Health Connect, Fitbit, Oura, Garmin, or another clearly identified connection.
- Family feature information such as family membership, invite codes, challenge progress, encouragement badges, and the sharing preferences you select.
- Nutrition, hydration, body measurements, Coach 6 check-ins, notification preferences, and private progress photos you choose to save.
- Photos, notes, comments, messages, support requests, and other content you choose to submit.
- Purchase, subscription, and payment-status information. Payment processors should handle full card details.
- Communications, surveys, and feedback.
Information collected automatically
- Device and network information such as IP address, browser, operating system, app version, language, identifiers, and approximate IP-based location.
- Usage and diagnostic data such as pages viewed, features selected, interactions, timestamps, crashes, and performance logs.
- Cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies for essential functions, preferences, security, analytics, and any properly disclosed marketing.
Progress photos and body information
Progress photos and body measurements are optional. Progress photos are stored in private account-linked storage and are returned only after authenticated requests. Do not upload photos containing other people, identifying documents, or information you do not want stored with your account.
Family features and sharing
Family features are optional. Family members can see the display name, role, encouragement, and challenge information associated with the family. You control whether other family members can see your individual step and workout totals. Aggregate family challenge progress may still include private member contributions without identifying the member.
Invite codes should be shared only with people you want to join your family group. Family features are intended for encouragement and fitness participation, not medical monitoring or emergency supervision.
2. Camera, photos, and location
We request camera or photo-library access only when you choose a feature requiring it, such as machine identification. Photos may be transmitted to providers that host, analyze, or process images. Avoid including people or private information.
We request precise location only for location-based features and with device permission. You may deny or revoke permissions through device settings, although the related feature may not work. Unless clearly disclosed at collection, 68Fit does not use machine photos for facial recognition, biometric identification, public posting, or advertising.
3. How we use information
- Provide and personalize workouts, onboarding, progress tools, machine identification, and outdoor suggestions.
- Create and secure accounts, authenticate users, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
- Respond to requests and send service messages, optional reminders, or marketing according to your choices.
- Process purchases and manage subscriptions.
- Analyze performance, improve features, comply with law, enforce agreements, and protect safety and rights.
- Create aggregated or de-identified information for lawful business purposes.
4. How we disclose information
We may disclose information to:
- providers supporting hosting, authentication, analytics, email, support, maps, image processing, artificial intelligence, payments, security, and crash reporting;
- other users or the public when you intentionally choose a sharing, community, leaderboard, or public-profile feature;
- professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement, or courts when reasonably needed for law, safety, rights, wrongdoing, or claims;
- a buyer or successor during a financing, merger, reorganization, or asset transfer; and
- other parties at your direction or with your consent.
68Fit does not sell personal information for money. If future practices qualify as selling, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable law, we will update this policy and provide required choices first.
5. Health and fitness information
Fitness goals, workouts, measurements, limitations, and progress may be sensitive. We use them to provide requested features and the purposes described here. 68Fit is generally not a healthcare provider or health plan, so information submitted directly to 68Fit is generally not protected by HIPAA, although other privacy laws may apply.
We do not sell health or fitness information or use it for targeted advertising without any consent required by law.
Wearable connections and permissions
Wearable connections are optional. Before accessing a health-data type, 68Fit will identify the requested information and ask for device or account authorization. You may grant limited access, deny access, or disconnect a source. Disconnecting stops future synchronization but does not automatically delete information previously synchronized to your 68Fit account.
68Fit uses authorized health information to calculate fitness-readiness guidance, personalize workouts, display trends, and provide Coach 6 recommendations. Readiness scores are estimates and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.
6. Retention
We keep personal information only as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain records, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and enforce agreements. Account and saved fitness history are ordinarily retained while your account is active.
Verified deletion requests remove or de-identify associated information from active systems unless retention is permitted or required for legal, security, payment, fraud-prevention, dispute, or backup purposes. The removal process may take up to 30 days, and encrypted backup copies may remain for a limited period before routine deletion.
7. Your choices and rights
- Review and update available profile information through account settings.
- Unsubscribe from marketing messages while continuing to receive essential service communications.
- Manage notification, camera, photo, location, and cookie permissions.
- Request access, correction, deletion, portability, or another applicable privacy right by emailing support@68fit.com.
- Delete your account through the in-product deletion option, the 68Fit account-deletion page, or by emailing support@68fit.com.
We may verify your identity before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure. Use a unique password, protect your device, and report suspected unauthorized activity to support@68fit.com.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 submitted information should contact us so we can take reasonable steps to delete it. Users under legal majority should use 68Fit only with parent or guardian permission and supervision.
10. International users and third parties
68Fit is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where providers operate. Third-party links and services are governed by their own privacy notices.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service, laws, and data practices change. We will post the revised policy, change its effective date, and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required.
